Hello, it’s been a while!
Lately, I’ve been busy with work (a welcome thing compared to earlier this year when I was uninspired to work or do anything really)—but the next few months are full of adventure and events, which I’m excited to share with you! For now, I’ll share with you my MIBF (Manila International Book Fair) haul this year. I’ve posted my haul every year since 2015, and it’s nice to see how my tastes have evolved. I’ve been more and more conscious of book-buying every year. I ask myself questions like “Will I read this more than once?” “Will I want this to be on my shelf for several years?” “Will this book add to my being or not?” Armed with these questions, I went to the book fair with a list of book-investments I’d want to purchase.
First, I got the 75th-anniversary edition of Edith Hamilton’s Mythology. I first read this book in my first or second year in high school (nearly 7 years ago?!) and fell in love with the stories. I got myself a copy at a local second-hand bookstore and reread it once every so often when I get the urge to jump into the world of gods and Greek tragedy.
Look how beautiful the cover is!
Gorgeous illustration inside!
I can’t wait to re-read the stories one of these days!
My older, worn-out copy of the book!

After weeks of eagerly waiting (and saving), the Big Bad Wolf Book Fair finally makes its debut in the Philippines! I stayed up-to-date with the book fair, making sure that I didn’t miss a single post. Sure enough, they gave away hundreds of preview passes that’s good for the day before opening to the public. I—of course—had to join the contest and was one of the lucky people who won preview passes!
Bright and early on the 15th of February.
I invited my friends to come with me, as each pass allowed two people. Luckily, my university is near the venue (World Trade Center), so my best friend and I commuted. We left early in the morning and finally arrived around 8:30 AM, thirty minutes before opening!
I’m in love with the tickets!
Nicole and I! (My other two friends came in later and I didn’t get to take a photo with them.)
After impatiently waiting for thirty minutes, the doors finally opened and I was breathless with all the books around me!
Pays to go early!
I love how neatly all the books were stacked!
Gorgeous books for an even more gorgeous price!
Even their plastic is cute!

I want to start a new series where I wrap up my experiences per month in one blog post! So to wrap up June, I want to share with you some things I’ve been working on plus some packages I got!
First up, packages!
1. Pedigree Dog Food Samples
I have two cute dogs at home and I wanted them to try out some Pedigree samples (that’s specific for their weight class). Luckily, Pedigree Philippines offers free samples for your dog to try! I sent in the details of both my dogs and got this a few weeks later:
Inside each package contains a small pack of dry dog food, a small pouch of wet dog food, and a small booklet on feeding information. It was really interesting to receive these since I wanted to see how my dogs would react to wet dog food (as compared to their normal dry dog food portions).
You can get a sample here (for Philippine residences only)!
2. Books, books, and more books!
The next package I got was really exciting for me since I’ve been waiting for several months to receive it. I pre-ordered two books from Book Depository a couple of months back and it’s finally here!
It’s the 20th-anniversary copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone! It’s so pretty. I love everything about it.
I’m a proud Ravenclaw. #HousePride! While one of my best friends (Courtney) is a Slytherin. I bought her a copy as her birthday gift. (Don’t worry, she already saw it.)

Hello, everyone! Just wanted to share a small update! My third term in university just started two weeks ago, and I’ve been keeping myself pretty occupied lately.
First, if you noticed on my blog, I have a new tab labeled “Features (When in Manila)”. I’ve finally achieved my dream of being an actual contributor to a website/publication! I’ve published one article so far and there’s another one on the way! Thank you for all the love and support! I’m one step closer to achieving my dreams!
Second, I’ve bought/got some things this month and I want to share them with you!
1. Dog-A-Petreat’s Beef Heart Crisps
I bought a pack of beef heart crisps from this store, and my dogs absolutely love it!
Family photo vibe here – HAHA! (L-R: Archer & Luli)
I can see and hear them salivating and panting just at the sight and smell of these babies.
Archer takes the lead! Will Luli get a chance?
(But, seriously, dogs will go nuts for these things. I’m even tempted to try it myself – HAHA.)
2. Book Haul from Aklatan
