As a bookworm, one of my ultimate goals is to actually go to a book signing. Of course, when the opportunity presents itself, I make sure to grab it with two hands. Luckily, my university was hosting a book signing, I decided to go for it. Unfortunately, I haven’t finished reading the book before the signing but I still decided to go since it would be cool to actually meet an international author! Miss Hanya Yanagihara just so happened to be at the right place and at the right time. I had her book A Little Life on my Goodreads’s “to-read” shelf for a while and decided to go for it.
It’s that time of the year again where my wallet cries for help: the Manila International Book Fair!
This year, I went on the first day (September 14, Wednesday) and on the third day (September 16, Friday). I usually go two days; one for family (my aunt and I have this “tradition” that we go every year together) and one with friends.
On the first day, I was actually surprised to see that there are fewer people than usual. It was very spacious and we had a fun time going around buying books!
The thing about the MIBF is that my friends and family plan for months ahead of time so that our schedule would be clear enough to spend the day at the SMX Convention Center. This year, I told myself to stick to my “book list” so that I can control how much books I would get and how much money I’d use. Luckily, I (sorta) followed my list this year!
